What lies at the core of the Southern African Institute for Business Accountants (CIBA) is a desire to help connect, develop and recognise our members as accounting and finance professionals.

CIBA is a proud professional body, helping to build the careers of more than 6 500 members.

A CIBA member survey revealed the following key facts:

• 49% of members identified themselves as white and 51% as black
• 70% of members are between the ages of 26 and 45
• 79% of members have a qualification higher than a diploma
• 44% of members have a degree and 25% an honours degree
• 50% of members are in practice
• 44% of members are in full-time employment and/or run a part-time practice
• 71% of members earn their main income from accounting work
• 59% of members joined in the last three years
• 41% of new members heard about CIBA from friends or family
• The main reason why members join CIBA is to receive a designation
• CIBA was identified as the third largest professional body in the accounting sector
